A Hunting Lodge & Classic Cocktails Couple Shower

If you’re ready to be transported, this autumn couple shower will do the trick, taking you to a dinner party in a rustic hunting lodge following a day of horseback riding and quail hunting. The inspiration for the decor comes from two classic cocktails: an Old Fashioned for him and mulled wine for her. Deep burgundy shades with pine green and hints of gold set the tone for a luxurious yet rustic dining room in which the guests could enjoy a dinner of roasted quail and corn and zucchini succotash followed by Jim Beam chocolate pecan pies and drunken pumpkin tarts (to name just a few of the treats on the menu). We particularly love the hand-lettered menus and illustrated cocktail signs that bring personality to the space. The theme is even reflected in the guests’ attire, with the gentlemen donning windowpane jackets and quilted vests and the ladies sporting riding boots and earth tones. A Winter Wonderland Bridal Shower

When trying to decide when to host a bridal shower, winter isn’t often the first season that comes to mind. But why shouldn’t it?! December could be the perfect time of year to host a winter bridal shower since many of the bride’s childhood friends might already plan to travel to their hometown for the holidays. Which makes your shower convenient and unique. Plus, can we talk about the built-in fabulous decorating option on hand? Amazing evergreen smell? Check. Twinkle lights already hung? Check. In the cooking baking mood? You know it. The winter white palette just so happens to be perfectly bridal as well, and adding rustic accents, like pinecones and natural wood, will bring a cozy vibe to the event. Break out your woolly socks and cable-knit sweaters and spend some quality time with the ones you love.

A Winter in Florida Bridal Shower

As a one-time Floridian, I can tell you that “Florida winter” is an oxymoron—so I’m not surprised that Alaskan bride Katie returned to her family home in the Sunshine State for a winter bridal shower. Photographer Elise Giordano, who became friends with Katie during a summer up north, perfectly captures the fun of the day in snaps of the guests enjoying drinks and sharing memories on the sun-drenched porch. Little nods to Katie’s career as a journalist for The Skagway News can be found in details like the bunting banner made of book pages. I love the personal, thoughtful touches added to every aspect of the party, from the thumbprint balloons stamped on the whimsical bicycle illustration (such a unique guest book!) to the petal blue cake with perfect peach rosettes created by a family friend (I can’t believe cake decorating is just her hobby!).
