One way to know you’ve found your perfect match? You are both totally down with being photographed in onesies! Bride Kulsoom chose to have a laid-back Netflix and Chill bridal shower and showed up in the most perfect purple unicorn onesie. Her friends were totally onboard as well, arriving as dragons, superheroes and more. One of the highlights? Kulsoom’s finance Mehdi arriving in his own matching shark onesie! From a popcorn bar to personalized Netflix and Chill signs to a cute photo booth with a metallic WIFEY balloon wall, these bridesmaids went all out to make Kulsoom feel special and celebrate her upcoming marriage. We love unique bridal shower themes that are inspired by the bride’s personality, and we can’t stop smiling at this fun-filled shower.
Olivia’s beautiful, simple summer picnic bridal shower was held on the back patio of a local restaurant, where guests enjoyed al fresco dining in a secluded back garden decorated with roses, hydrangeas, hand-lettered signs and cream and navy linens. Keeping with the sweet and simple picnic theme, each guest received a jar of homemade jam as a party favor, and cobblers made by the groom’s mother were served in adorable mini-mason jars. Olivia exuded sweetness the whole day long as her guests showered her with love and attention and some unique bridal shower gifts, like an umbrella (for the SHOWER, get it?) with a surprise inside: cash tied to the spokes of the umbrella!
For this unique painting party bridal shower, bride Jordynne and her guests started the day off with a painting class at Olive’s Mud Puddle, a sip and paint shop in South Carolina, where they each created a personal “Tree of Love” paintings. When Jordynne got home, she found a secret shower set up for her—Victoria’s Secret, that is! The house was decorated in pink and black everything, including plenty of bags filled with lingerie and a stunning custom cake topped with a stiletto. Phylicia of Posh Moments Photography was there to capture every special moment of the day.
The theme for this rustic bridal shower was antiques and ivory, incorporating lots of vintage pieces like typewriters and hat boxes with ivory letters, flowers and a stunning white cake. Bride Ali’s bridesmaids went above and beyond with their DIY decorations—her bridesmaid Nicole created all of the calligraphy chalkboard signs for the party, including a welcome board and a sign on the succulent favor table. My favorite special touch is the white roses Ali’s fiancé sent her, each with a tag on it sharing one thing he loves about Ali! Avonne Photography was there to capture this stunning rustic bridal shower.
Bride Colleen’s bridesmaids threw her a gorgeous nautical bridal shower at the Pine Beach Yacht Club. The shower included so many personal touches, from a hand-drawn cocktail sign (created by one of Colleen’s bridesmaids in a nod to her previous California address) to gorgeous florals from another bridesmaid’s family flower shop. The airy space on the Tom’s River in New Jersey was decorated with chic gold-lettered banners and each table toasted with a bottle of rosé featuring a custom bridal shower wine label. And we are fully stealing this gift idea for the football-loving bride: a jersey with her new last name on the back! Kelly of Kelly Sea Images captured this modern and bright event.
Bride Jillian of style blog Rhyme & Reason was delighted with her Around the Clock bridal shower with a little bit of a twist. Each guest was assigned a general time of day—morning, cocktail hour, dinner or late night—but the three hostesses and the bride’s mother each picked a holiday and chose cute decor for that occasion. The bride is now fully ready to host Easter, Cinco de Mayo, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Photographer Elyse Hall captured this modern event in sunny Arizona. Basic Invite is one of the few websites that allows you to customize almost every element of the invitation. I’m not just talking the font color and type here. You can literally change the color of the background and each design element to perfectly match your party theme. Below I’ve created three inspiration boards to show you the versatility of Basic Invite’s bridal shower invitations—a Kate Spade bridal shower, a Paris boudoir bridal shower and a tropical bridal shower. P.S. Brides, you’ll find equally customizable wedding invitations, wedding save the dates and more!
Kate Spade Bridal Shower
For this Kate Spade bridal shower inspiration board, I left the Basic Invite Kate Spade invitation exactly as designed since the color palette was already 100% perfect for the Kate Spade theme. Literally every element of this invitation can be customized though, from the color of the stripes to the tones of the flowers and leaves. The no-fail combination for a Kate Spade bridal shower is black and white stripes + pink flowers. Here are a few tips to put together a gorgeous Kate Spade bridal shower.
Adorn cookies or macarons with stripes, polka dots and cute sayings like “Pop, Fizz, Clink” and “Eat Cake for Breakfast.”
A bold black and white striped look for the bride is the perfect twist on traditional bridal shower white.
Add sparkle with a pink sequin table runner and glitter-dipped champagne glasses.
Don’t forget lots of pink blooms, like peonies and roses. And check out this cute bridal shower balloon game to complete the party.
As the city of love, Paris is the perfect inspiration for a bridal shower. I used a French patisserie as my staring point and incorporated a classy and feminine boudoir theme to give the event a little extra French flair. I started with this Basic Invite Paris bridal shower invitation, which I customized with a few tweaks to perfectly fit the event. I updated the font, switched the bride’s name to a matte gold and added a blue accent.
Ask your guests to dress in comfortable and chic boudoir attire—that could mean tulle skirts and floral corsets or silky pajamas with flowing robes.
Set up a flower crown crafting bar or arrange for a class so that guests can create beautiful headpieces of their own.
French macarons are a must, of course. A signature drink like this refreshing rosé cocktail is the perfect complement.
For this last inspiration board, I wanted to show you just how powerful the Basic Invite editing tool is, so I literally changed EVERY single color on their Garden Party Bridal Shower invitation. The original is on the left and my updated version is on the right.
My new vibrant colors gave the Garden Party Bridal Shower Invitation from Basic Invite a more tropical vibe, perfect for a summer bridal shower. Here are a few more tips for putting together the perfect tropical bridal shower. Plus, check out our Pinterest board for more ideas.
You’ve seen a mimosa bar at every bridal shower—switch it up with a sangria bar!
Incorporate tropical flowers, succulents and summer fruits like pineapples and watermelon into your decor for a lush summertime vibe.
Serve fresh, light dishes like summer fruit salad in a coconut shell or watermelon popsicles.
