A Secret Garden in the City Bridal Shower

Fashion blogger Elyse of Leather and Lace wanted to transport her guests to a secret garden in the city, so she asked GLDN Events to transform New York’s Gramercy Hotel into a flower-filled wonderland for her spring bridal shower. Soft pink and white streamers hanging from the ceiling gave the space a whimsical vibe and Elyse’s stunning pleated floral dress with a strappy open back completed the feeling of Alice gone through the looking glass. The white and pink anenome flower statement wall shows that a simple DIY can add instant impact. Black and white stripes on the table runner and cake added a modern touch to this festive floral shower, completing the urban garden party vibe.

A Great Gatsby Bridal Shower

Timeless elegance, soft candlelight, dripping pearls and a strong cocktail or two—for bride Alex, a Great Gatsby bridal shower was the perfect combination of romance and style. While planning the shower, Mom Jeryl and sister Taylor channeled the roaring twenties and Hollywood glamour with red and black feather centerpieces and deco-gold signage. The guests completely embraced the flapper dress code, arriving in sequined and beaded gowns and donning feather headpieces. Bride Alex’s strapless fringe dress is a stunner, perfectly accented with Chanel pearls and a crystal headpiece. We also love the riff on a typical bridal shower game: instead of toilet paper wedding dresses, these ladies crafted over-the-top sun hats.

A Singing in the Rain Bridal Shower in New York City

I kind of adore when the “shower” part of bridal shower finds its way into the theme, and what better way to do it than with a Singin in the Rain shower in New York City. Event planners and all-around cool girls Little Miss Party chose Tribeca restaurant Locanda Verde for a bit of old Hollywood charm. A custom Playbill for bride Sas served as the menu and the yellow from the rain slickers in the original movie poster (framed and displayed on the fireplace) carries through the shower in the cheerful flowers, citron mimosas and a clever centerpiece—an electric yellow rain boot as a vase! I love the delicate white parasols and the bride’s superchic dress (yellow and grey—it’s like the sun coming out on a rainy day!). The perfect finishing touch?
