A Chic Neon Kentucky Derby Party Styled Shoot

For the horsewoman in your life (or the girl who is still holding out that unicorns are real!), we love this modern take on a Kentucky Derby party, held at a local stable. Event designers Ivory & Beau chose a chic color palette of neon pink, sherbet orange and soft grey. The addition of geometric elements, from the chunky gemstone jewelry worn by the bride and her maids to the gem-shaped photo backdrop made for the perfect funky and bold update to a classically rustic setting. A Modern Geometric Gold Bridal Shower

Led by bride Rachel’s sister and MOH, Ashley, this creative group of bridesmaids took DIY to the extreme with this modern geometric gold bridal shower. Rachel’s other sister Taylor, a wedding photographer herself, was happy to capture the gorgeous details that all the bridesmaids worked so hard to create. “We went spray paint happy for two days straight. It was so much work but well worth the effort,” says Taylor. Clear balloons mixed with tons of gold accents and geometric shapes kept the look modern but classic, while vibrant wildflowers added a pop of color. The hanging geometic shapes were constructed from simple drinking straws spray painted gold. The room was also dotted with air plants and succulents, some of Rachel’s favorite things. An empty coat closet was transformed into a bar, where mimosas and mojitos were served in vintage glasses that belonged to the bride’s grandmother. Even the food was DIY: Bridesmaid Scarlett prepared an amazing menu of fresh, seasonal dishes like peppercorn-crusted ahi tuna, grilled watermelon and feta skewers and prosciutto and melon bites. This could also be a great theme for a bridesmaid appreciation brunch—after all, they’ve been total gems throughout this crazy process, right? Instead of focusing on the sparkly side of diamonds, we took inspiration from the gem’s geometric shape and incorporated pastel colors with just the tiniest hints of metallic and shimmer. A Kaleidoscope of Colors Bridal Shower

Sometimes a lady does not want a shower that’s all pastel flowers and pink ruffles—she craves whimsy and vibrant colors, a modern affair for a modern woman! Anne from Circus Berry has just such a friend, so she obliged with an explosion of geometric garlands and colorful glassware in this kaleidoscope bridal shower. The crowning centerpiece is the donut hole tower, easily assembled with a styrofoam core, plastic wrap and a whole lot of toothpicks. When the bride asked for a nod to her beloved feline friend, Anne was momentarily stumped, but found the perfect solution with geometric cat cupcake toppers (love the question mark tail!).
